At one point, the habanero held the crown as the world’s hottest chili pepper. Although now surpassed by the Carolina Reaper/ Ghost peppers, Habaneros are seriously, unbelievably hot peppers, but uniquely possess quite a bit of flavour to go along with their extra-hot kick. Reminiscent by a unique, citrus-like taste with a subtle hint of smoke that makes it very popular in hot sauces, powders, and rubs. If you can handle the heat, this is a fun culinary chili to play with in the kitchen. WARNING: Please wear gloves and strictly avoid touching your skin and eyes whilst cooking with these fireballs.
Health: The higher a pepper ranks on the heat scale, the more capsaicin it consists of. However, habaneros have a lot more going for them that high capsaicin content. They are rich in macronutrients, Vitamins (Especially C and A), Minerals, and a whole lot of goodness (If you can handle them!)
